Disability awareness advert- Evaluation
1) Our task was to create a disability awareness advert from scratch, our audience were students who are around people with disabilities and teachers who can all help to make their school lives easier. To spread this awareness, we wanted to include an inspirational input from someone who has a disability and knows the importance of awareness in school. The name of our campaign is called Scope. Scope is already a disability awareness campaign and has done a lot of work all over the UK. We made our advert to contribute to the charity.
2) I worked with Molly B, Bobby and Dan on this project. We started off by brainstorming what we could include within our advert. We decided to take inspiration from Buzzfeed's disability video and use the green screen to be a background behind short images of children with in Baddow school who have disabilities. We then created a story board of the different stages of our video. We included the angle shots, the time of each shot and what colour the background would be. Molly was then assigned to do the editing of the video and I was assigned to ensure the video went on everyone's blog.
3) We planned our sequence through a story board as explained above.
4) To research, we looked for a disability charity that already existed. We found the charity scope, which focused on raising money and spreading awareness for disabilities. We then researched Buzzfeed's videos on disabilities.
5) I think the interview of our teacher who has a disability went well because it gave inspiration to people who may need help to get through their disability. I also think the use of students within the school that have disabilities was effective because it showed students that their not alone.
6) From completing this task I have found that storyboards really help when creating an advert as it helps you to outline each stage of your advert.
Club Advert Remake
1) To remake this advert, two groups were given two halves of the video to re-create. My group who included Olivia, Harriet, Holly, Jen and myself used props and different angle shots. We did this by re-watching the original advert many times and trying our best to set the camera in each angle at the right speed and distance.
2) To plan our sequence, we first watched the advert and paused it in each scene. We then screenshotted these scenes so we could recreate each one realistically.
3) Steve Neale- Neale believed that difference and genres attracted a certain audience to a video. This advert's audience is for the younger generation hence why the angle shots were slanted and the speed was fast.
4) The factors we had to take in account when shooting were: The height and angle of the shot, what type of angle it was (example: Crab shot), The distance from the focus point, The duration of a scene.
5) I thought our sequence was quite successful as we managed to replicate the timing of each scene of the advert. However, I feel to improve we could have used better props and replicate the angles better.
6) Other people said that our production was really good and that we shot all the right angles.
7) From completing this task, I have found out that it is difficult to create the right angles for the right amount of time. it was also hard to find the necessary props such as a wheelbarrow.
8) For the future, this task has shown me how to prepare for a production video. I now know that I need to analyse each scene and figure out what angle shots I am going to use along with timing it right to the music.
Dancing animal premiere
In this music video, I used different effects such as changing the brightness and contrast so I could develop different effects on each scene. I also used the cutting feature to fit the music better to the scenes. Furthermore, I also used various audio and video transitions such as zoom and fade to make the scenes flow.
